Using LERs to power new modes of talent and employer matching at scale in Central Ohio and beyond
Our project enhances talent and employer matching in Central Ohio using Learning and Employment Records (LERs), focusing on high school students and recent alumni. By reducing application redundancies and improving data portability, we minimize bias from non-standard data parsing.
We leverage verifiable credentials to ensure privacy, transparency, and best-fit matches. Our goals include converting data into LER-compliant formats, updating application functionalities, and developing an LER-compliant credential wallet.
We serve high school juniors, seniors, recent graduates, and Central Ohio employers using SchooLinks. Collaborating with LER providers and credentialing organizations, we support competency mapping, training, and implementation.
By standardizing data at career fairs and leveraging Columbus City Schools’ support, we enhance students' workforce entry. Funding will support CLR standards, Open Badges 3.0, and digital wallet development to accelerate LER compliance and employer data integration.
Activities include software development for CLR conversion, employer integrations, a digital wallet, and improved job-matching. Through design, development, testing, and deployment, we aim to build a scalable, transparent system connecting students and employers.
